New Podcast! The X-Cast X-Files Podwatch – Episode #102 (Sunshine Days/The Truth)

I’m thrilled to be a part of The X-Cast X-Files Podwatch, a daily snippet podcast rewatching the entirety of The X-Files between now and the launch of the new season. It is something of a spin-off of The X-Cast, a great X-Files podcast run by the charming Tony Black. Tony has assembled a fantastic array of guests and hosts to go through The X-Files episode-by-episodes. With the new season announced to be starting in early January, Tony’s doing two episodes of the podcast per day, so buckle up. And we’re at the end of the final season of the original series.

This is my last appearance on the podwatch, although hopefully I’ll be back before long on another X-Cast activity. It’s a pleasure to be joining Tony to discuss the last two episodes of the final season of the original run, Sunshine Days and The Truth. The X-Cast will be continuing beyond this to look at The X-Files: I Want to Believe and the revival, but this is the end of the line for me, at least for the moment.

It’s a season of last appearances, as the X-Cast X-Files Podwatch winds to a close. This is my last appearance with the great Christopher Knowles, and it has been an absolute pleasure for me. We’re discussing both Hellbound and Provenance. Also, a special shout-out to the wonderful Carl Sweeney for doing a phenomenal edit on the episode.

My final collaboration with the wonderful Baz Greenland finds us discussing the highs and lows of the season, the mythology-heavy Trust no 1 and the Doggett-driven John Doe. No points for guessing which is the high and which is the low.

This time, I’m reteaming with the great Baz Greenland to dig into two early ninth season episodes, 4-D and Lord of the Flies. 4-D isn’t too bad, and is actually quite interesting on its own merits. Lord of the Flies is a little bit more like the stuff that flies traditionally swarm around.

I’m actually covering most of the first half of the ninth season, and I’m joining Tony to cover Nothing Important Happened Today II and Dæmonicus, two of the episodes that set the tone for the season ahead. And not really in a good way.

Fun fact: This was the last episode of the regular podcast that myself and Tony recorded, perhaps explaining our giddiness. Or maybe the season was already getting to us.

New Podcast! The Scannain End of Year Podcast 2017

I was thrilled to join Niall Murphy, Grace Duffy and Jason Coyle for the Scannain End of Year Podcast 2017, a podcast looking back at the best and worst in film in the Irish calendar year of 2017. Included is a discussion of the biggest films at the Irish box office, the worst films of the year, and each individual’s top ten films.

We’re hoping to get recording the podcast with a bit more regularity in the new year, but, in the meantime, check out the podcast below.
