I think that was the reason Wright didn’t do Ant-Man – he just wanted to do the film he WANTED.
Btw, did you see Attack the Block? It was directed by Joe Cornish who is a long-time collaborator and friend of Wright. The movie’s tone is pretty similar to Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead…
Attack the Block is great. Really loved it.
