This year, we are running a season looking at the films in the Halloween franchise. So this week, Steve Miner’s Halloween H20: Twenty Years Later.

Two decades after the horrific Halloween night in which Michael Myers returned to Haddenfield, Laurie Strode finds herself desperately trying to put her life back together under an assumed name at an elite private school. Raising her son, Laurie is still haunted by the trauma of that night twenty years ago, unaware that a Shape is lumbering through the darkness directly towards her.

Polio sufferer Steve Rogers is selected for a dangerous experiment that could turn the tide of the Second World War, being reborn as Captain America. When a mission behind enemy lines throws him into conflict with the Italian supervillain the Red Skull, Steve Rogers ends up trapped in the ice. However, he awakens just as his country needs him most.

This time, Quentin Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction.

Three stories unfold across Los Angeles over the course of three days, featuring an interlocking set of criminal characters who find their lives on an unexpected collision course. Is there any rhyme or reason to the course that these characters chart, or is it all arbitrary chaos? That’s ultimately up to the viewer to determine for themselves.
