       I once heard Shane Black give a speech at the Screenwriters Expo and was very impressed with him. I’m glad he’s segued into directing after having a successful screenwriting career.

       I’ve always had a fondness for him. Even when doing somewhat generic action movies, Black’s scripts always have an edge. I hope that the same is true here.

     Darker’s not necessarily bad. Although I’d argue the lightness really comes from Downey himself. The stories are pretty dark – he is ambushed, left for dead and forced to build a suit to sustain himself while building terrorist weapons. Hell, his mate commits suicide to buy him time.
