Watch! Mama Trailer…

Universal just set over the new trailer for Mama, the new supernatural thriller produced by Guillermo del Toro. Del Toror is producing, and writer-director Andres Muschietti is making his theatrical début, having worked on a number of short films before this (including one called Mamá). It stars Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Jessica Chastain and follows the mysterious recovery of two missing girls years after their initial disappearance. It looks nice and atmospheric, and del Toro’s name is enough to make the film worth a look to me.

Give the trailer a watch and let me know what you think.

  1. Still waiting for Guillermo’s next horror film, not just as a producer, guess this will have to do. Looks good enough. Like the cast. Here’s hoping it’s a more than above average flick.

    • Yep. I’m a bit disappointed at all the stuff he’s branding his name to – if only because it tends to be a tiny bit misleading. Then again, he’s been very busy over the past couple of years – it’s just sad that nothing really came of a lot of the stuff he put so much effort into. Ironic that his endorsement on a poster is more likely to get a film released than an idea he’s pushing himself towards the screen.

But still, I’m interested in Mama. Jessica Chastain has had a great run, and I’m interested to see her in a film like this.
