What with the whole ridiculous argument about how Captain America: The First Avenger, with its politically-charged protagonist, would be sold overseas, it seemed inevitable that the superbowl trailer would be set to the anthem America $£%# Yeah! from that pop culture cult hit Team America: World Police. Anyway, the remix of the teaser works quite well, given that there were only 25 seconds of footage to play with. Have a look below, and then get some.

yeah, it had to be done really. thank God it was
I was waiting for it, to be frank. By the way, check out the nostalgia in that X-Men trailer. It even features a JFK voice over (and a sex doll!)
By sex doll I assume you mean January Jones?
Nope. I mean the thing in Magneto’s hand here.
I’m not even close to being ashamed to admit that that trailer made me leap to my feet out of sheer patriotic joy. Looks like a total blast that totally gets what kind of movie it is. So far I’ve got this pegged as the comic book movie that’ll set the bar for the rest of 2011’s comic book movies.
It has an excellent cast. That has to help.
Yep. Hugo Weaving is just perfect casting.
Really? I’m suspicious of Johnson. I reckon Thor could be brilliant or terrible and X-Men: First Class will surprise us. I hope Green Lantern is better than it looks.
Johnston might not have a great oeuvre, but he’s capable, I think, of delivering the sort of movie that Captain America should be. It falls in the same camp as The Rocketeer, a movie that Johnston hit out of the park (admittedly, that was 20 years ago, but y’know).
I might be putting high expectations on this but I can’t help it. It looks ridiculously and shamelessly entertaining.
Yep, I’m still suspicious. I wonder if a director can rekindle a 20-year-old frame. Don’t worry, I’ll still be there on opening night, but I’m cautious.
